DESCRIPTION:The SE Uplift Land Use & Transportation Committee provides a forum for District 3 community members and organizations to learn about\, discuss\, and engage in transportation and land use issues affecting our neighborhoods. Please join us in October for:   \n\nAn 82nd Ave Transit Project Update on the design for the FX-Frequent Express service that will improve travel times and access on the region’s most used bus line when it is complete in 2029.  \n\n\nBike Bus Wayfinding Pilot\, funded by Metro\, will share lessons on how to improve the confidence of families and youth cycling to school. We will also take a look at Safe Routes to School priorities.   \n\nTopics are subject to change. See past meeting notes for recent committee discussions.

DESCRIPTION:(Presented by Rose City Self-Defense) \nDesigned for all genders\, this 90-minute workshop for dealing with the threat of violence will introduce adults to a variety of self-protective options in a discussion format that will include:  \n\nTrusting and using your intuition \n\n\nHow bias affects your judgment \n\n\nEstablishing and setting boundaries \n\n\nAssertive communication \n\n\nDe-escalation strategies \n\n\nBenefits and risks of various escape options \n\n Join us to learn how you can keep yourself safe!  \nThis workshop will consist of a presenter speaking and showing visuals on a screen with amplification for videos. There will not be a physical component to this workshop. The workshop will take place at SE Uplift in the Fireside Room\, which is ADA accessible.
