SUMMARY:How to Start a Mutual Aid Network
DESCRIPTION:Join SE Uplift’s Community Care & Safety Task Force for this month’s virtual workshop to learn how to organize a mutual-aid network in your neighborhood. We’ll hear from Jenn from the Holding Hearts Bloc\, a mutual-aid group in Lents. Holding Hearts organizes a free weekly event that provides warm meals\, to-go foods\, clothing\, hygiene products\, and more to people in need. They also organize and sponsor other inspiring mutual-aid endeavors around Portland.  \nWe will also learn about a project funded through a SE Uplift 2026 Community Small grant that will create a resource that maps the location of mutual aid support throughout District 3.  \nEveryone is welcome! \nClick Here to Join. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Housing Bonus Alignment Project & Cesar Chavez Safety Project (LUTC)
DESCRIPTION:Discover & Create Your Neighborhood at the Land Use & Transportation Committee \nMeeting Topics: \n\nHousing Bonus Alignment Project\n\nThe Housing Bonus Alignment Project aims to update development bonuses in mixed use and multi-dwelling zones outside of the Central City through zoning amendments. The changes offer bonuses to developers like extra height or larger building footprints in exchange for needed housing types. This includes increased accessible units\, affordable housing\, and more bedrooms for large households such as those with children. Reductions on minimum standards on landscaping\, setbacks\, and outdoor space are being considered to create more room for neighbors in our city. \n\nSE Cesar Chavez Safety Project\n\nPortland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is working to improve safety for people on SE Cesar Chavez Boulevard between Lafayette Court and Schiller Street. Left turn signals for traffic turning onto Chavez Blvd from Holgate\, lane reallocations into two travel lanes with left-turn pockets at select sites\, new on-street parking\, and creating future crossing improvements.  \n\nTransportation Rules Updates\n\nThe City of Portland is currently revising several Administrative Rules for Transportation (TRN abbreviation) to ensure the City Code remains operational. A key update is TRN 14-34 which regulates Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). While autonomous vehicles provide benefits there are risks which need to be weighed with consideration for how AVs interact with the public. Proposed rules include conditions of operation as well as restrictions. \nPublic comment is being accepted on Encroachments in the Public Right-of-Way (TRN-8.08)\, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plans for Residential Uses (TRN-9.02)\, and Driveways – Operations and Location (TRN-10.40). \n\nCommittee Updates\n\nThe latest updates and an invitation to share community highlights on neighborhood projects and initiatives.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSee the Meeting Agenda
