Do you know a Portland business that values the contributions of older adults– as employees, customers, and community members?
Do you know a business or organization committed to creating a welcoming environment or providing great service for people of all ages?
Nominate these businesses (or if you are one, APPLY) for a Portland Age-Friendly Business Award!
It is no secret our population is aging. While this demographic shift brings challenges to the way we run our cities, businesses, and organizations it is also a boon to our economy and an integrated social fabric. Multigenerational workforces are profitable and productive. Businesses that best serve older clientele are able to tap into a growing economic demographic
Portland businesses and organizations are doing things right! We will recognize these innovators and their best practices at the inaugural Age-Friendly Business Awards on October 31st, 2018 at Portland City Hall, with winners honored by Portland City Council following the ceremony.
Nominations and applications are open for two awards until July 31st:
- The Age-Friendly Business Award will be presented to businesses with commitment and demonstrated business practices that best serve older adults in Portland.
- The Age-Smart Employer Award will recognize businesses with policies and practices that benefit older workers.
Both awards will be given in three categories determined by business size.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE ON JULY 31ST!
