Southeast Uplift has recently received a SILVER CERTIFICATION from the Sustainability at Work Program!
We have been making diligent efforts to reduce our carbon footprint through developing sustainable purchasing practices, the addition of a new rain garden, new energy-efficient lighting and water fixtures, on-site composting, and much more. Our new rain garden, which was installed earlier this year with the help of the Bureau of Environmental Services, will utilize our region’s natural abundance of rainwater to grow a selection of newly installed native plants. We’re also developing a sustainable purchasing policy that will emphasize local companies for all our needs, including using 100% recycled copier paper and green cleaning supplies.
The Sustainability at Work Program is designed to pair local businesses with advisors to help organizations improve efficiency, save money, and provide healthy workspaces for employees.
We are working towards getting Gold Certified, so stay tuned for more news about our Sustainability efforts!
