Thank you for joining us during the 50th Birthday party for SE Uplift Neighborhood Coalition!
On August 23rd, SE Uplift staff and volunteers, neighbors and community partners celebrated 50 years of SEUL collaborating with the SE Portland community to build informed, inclusive, and participatory neighborhoods that support our social and ecological well-being. We were honored to hear from all of the speakers including past and current SEUL board members, staff, volunteers, and City of Portland staff. There were many highlights during the event, like Commissioner Fritz leading the cake cutting ceremony, board member Terry Dublinski- Milton unveiling the new bike parking, hearing stories from volunteers going back to the early years of SEUL and a visit from State Representative Rob Nosse. Pollyanne Birge and Winta Johannes, staff from Commission Eudaly’s office, and Office of Community and Civic Life Director Suk Rhee offered their congratulations on 50 years of community service. Paul Leistner, who has been a longtime neighorhood association volunteer, is a past Chair of the SE Uplift Board of Directors, and has worked for many years at the Office of Community and Civic Life, was among those honored at the event. SEUL aspires to continue collaborating with our neighbors and community partners for many years to come and looks forward to celebrating more birthdays with our community in the years to come.
Stay tuned for videos of our collaborators reflecting on their time with SEUL in upcoming newsletters.
