Participatory Budgeting Ballot Measure 26-267: A Community Webinar

This November, Portland voters will decide whether to authorize City Council to establish a participatory budgeting program that would allow residents to determine how to spend an amount equal to at least 2% of the City’s General Fund budget. If passed by voters, the program is estimated to begin with over $16 million in the City’s 2027-2028 fiscal year. This webinar will feature the campaigns supporting and opposing this measure who will present their positions and answer your questions.
Come join us to learn:
- What City Council would be required to include in the ordinance that establishes the program
- How residents would inform decisions about what gets funded
- Where participatory budgeting is being used in other U.S. cities
- And much more!
Speakers:
- Jim Labbe, Executive Director, Participatory Budgeting Oregon, Your 2 Cents Portland Campaign
- Amy Ruiz, Campaign Manager, Protect Our City Services
