How to Start a Rapid Response Network with Your Neighbors

(Please note that OSPIRG has cancelled their presentation about health care in Oregon that was previously scheduled for this date. We hope you’ll join us for this workshop!)
In an emergency, your closest resource is often the people next door, but only if you’ve already made the connection. This workshop will provide you with a practical guide for building a rapid response network with your neighbors before a situation emerges. Whether you live on a residential block, in an apartment building, or a larger community, you’ll leave with concrete steps to map your neighbors, establish communication channels, and create the groundwork for coordinated action when it matters most.
No prior organizing experience required, just a willingness to knock on a few doors. Participants will leave with a printable toolkit to help you get started!
This workshop complements other trainings we have held in this series, including:
- How to Create a Neighborhood Emergency Team (via Portland’s Neighborhood Emergency Team training program)
- How to Create a Mutual Aid Network
