Essentials That Every Neighborhood Association Board Member Should Know
Congratulations on being elected to serve on the board of directors for your Neighborhood Association. You join hundreds of other community volunteers all around the city who volunteer to make their neighborhood a better place for all. Southeast Uplift, District 3 Coalition, invites you to join us for this essential training to onboard you to the City of Portland’s Neighborhood Program and the important roles and responsibilities that will help you to serve effectively in this role.
This 90-minute virtual training via Zoom includes ample time for your questions as we explore:
- An overview of Portland’s Neighborhood Program and the rules by which all Neighborhood Associations operate
- The three legal duties that the State of Oregon expects of all nonprofit board members
- Board member roles and responsibilities
- Best practices for Neighborhood Association Board of Directors
