Update on Portland’s ADA Title II Public Right-of-Way Transition Plan

Join our virtual discussion to learn about how the City of Portland is working to improve access to the public right-of-way and provide feedback on the draft plan.
The draft ADA Title II Public Right-of-Way Transition Plan 5-Year Update aims to provide full program access to people with disabilities and fulfills the Portland Bureau of Transportation’s strategic goal of safety, moving people and goods, and asset management. The City of Portland has established commitments to eliminate barriers for accessing facilities and participating in programs, services, and activities. The Transition Plan creates an actionable framework for improving access across Portland’s public right-of-way. Curb ramps, pedestrian signals, parking, transit stops, and pedestrian pathway access are common barriers that are being improved. A variety of methods exist to address accessibility gaps while strategically using funds to provide improvements. Learn more about how the City of Portland is working to improve access to the public right-of-way and provide feedback on the draft plan through Friday, September 25, 2026.
